The Road Patrol is responsible for patrolling 910
square miles that include 21 Townships and 7 villages,
24 hours a day. In 2008, the Patrol Division
handled approximately
16,993
complaints through-out Chenango County.
The Patrol Division
is also very active in various State and Federally funded
programs such as “Stop-DWI” patrol, Aggressive Driving
grant, “Buckle-Up” seatbelt grant, Safe Child Car Seat
Program, Child Identification ID Card program and the
Sheriff’s “STOPPED” safe driving program for young drivers
under the age of 21 years.
